Over the last couple of years, there has been a groundswell of interest and momentum for using nature-based solutions to tackle the climate change and biodiversity crises.

Biography

Since starting at Nature United in 2021, Kevin has worked on the Natural Climate Solutions agriculture program and NU programs in specific geographies (such as British Columbia), providing policy analysis and government relations advice. He also focuses on policy areas that have shared provincial/territorial and federal jurisdiction, including climate, protected areas, and biodiversity.

He has dedicated most of his career to conserving vital lands and waters in Ontario and elsewhere in Canada—both on the ground and by effecting changes in policies and programs. His conservation career began in earnest at Ducks Unlimited Canada, where he helped craft Ontario’s Great Lakes Protection Act and lead the Ontario team’s natural infrastructure strategy. More recently, he led collaborative efforts to influence and improve wetland conservation policies and increase government investments in conservation. Kevin has a masters of applied science in environmental engineering, and an honours bachelor of science in biology and chemistry.

He lives in Barrie, Ontario with his two boisterous sons, where together they enjoy playing lots of sports, cheering on the Colts and the Leafs and exploring natural spaces both near and far from home.
